Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains what The Inked Scroll stores in your browser when you visit narcissus-sacredtreats-bakery.shop, why, and how you can change your choice or clear it. We keep this to the minimum the site needs, and if we ever add something new, we will list it here first and ask for your consent wherever it is optional. It works together with our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more broadly.
Cookies and local storage in brief
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. The browser sends it back to the site on later visits, which lets the site recognise a returning browser.
Local storage and session storage do a similar job, but the information stays in your browser and isn't sent to our server with each request. Local storage lasts until it is cleared; session storage is wiped when you close the tab or window.
For simplicity, this policy treats them alike: where we say "cookies" below, we mean all three.
What we store
The site needs two small entries to work. Neither identifies you, and neither is shared with anyone. We don't use advertising cookies, social-media plugins, tracking pixels or third-party fonts. No other cookies are set.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
au4-consent | Remembers your cookie choice, so the banner doesn't keep reappearing | Necessary · local storage | Until you clear it; we ask again after 12 months |
| Opening-animation flag | Lets the opening animation play once per visit instead of on every page | Necessary · session storage | Until you close the tab or browser |
Your choice, and how to change it
On your first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Necessary storage is always on, because without it the site couldn't even remember that you had answered. Everything else stays off unless you switch it on.
You can change your mind at any time, using the button below or the cookie settings link in the footer of every page:
Your new choice applies from that moment. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics data from being collected, but cookies already in your browser stay there until they expire or you delete them, as described below. Your choice is kept for 12 months, after which we ask again, in case you see things differently.
Saying no costs you nothing: every article, illustration and page works exactly the same with only the necessary storage. Your choice is saved in the browser you are using, not in an account, so if you visit from another device or browser, or after clearing your data, we will simply ask again.
Clearing storage in your browser
You can delete everything The Inked Scroll has stored at any time. Removing cookies and site data for narcissus-sacredtreats-bakery.shop also clears its local storage, so the banner will appear again on your next visit. Menu names vary a little between versions, but generally:
- Chrome and Edge: while on narcissus-sacredtreats-bakery.shop, select the icon to the left of the address, open the cookies or site data settings and delete the stored data.
- Firefox: select the padlock in the address bar and choose "Clear cookies and site data".
- Safari on Mac: open Settings, then Privacy, then "Manage Website Data", search for narcissus-sacredtreats-bakery.shop and remove it.
- Safari on iPhone and iPad: open the Settings app, then Safari (under Apps on recent versions), then Advanced, then Website Data.
A private or incognito window deletes everything automatically when you close it. You can also block cookies and storage altogether in your browser's settings. The articles will still be readable, but the site won't remember your choice, so you will see the banner on every visit.
